Shakespeare's Treasure
Welcome to The Quest for Shakespeare's Treasure.
You now have an opportunity to enter one of the most exciting challenges in the world.
By entering this competition you will, ultimately, have a chance of finding the location of a secret treasure which is hidden somewhere in England. The treasure is not buried at a physical site but you must discover its "virtual" location to have a chance of winning Shakespeare's Treasure. This is a beautiful gilded mask, a unique and valuable work of art. It contains gold, diamonds as well as some beautiful sapphires, aquamarines, a ruby and an emerald.
You don't need to leave your computer to take part in The Quest for Shakespeare's Treasure, all the information you need can be found somewhere on the internet.
In the first part of The Quest for Shakespeare's Treasure you will be given a selection of 15 questions which you must use your skill and intelligence to answer.
In the second part of The Quest for Shakespeare's Treasure you need to look at 37 paintings. Hidden in each is a single clue. When you put the answers to all the clues together a riddle will be revealed which will lead you to the location of Shakespeare's Treasure. Everyone who discovers this secret place correctly will be entered into a draw and the winner will receive the gilded mask - Shakespeare's Treasure.
The competition commences at midnight on April 22nd 2010 and ends at midnight on April 23rd 2011. The draw for the mask will be made at midday on April 24th 2011 and the winner notified by email and/or telephone shortly after.
The Competition
The entry fee for this online competition is £10. When you have registered and paid your entry fee, you will be given access to The Quest.
There are lots of reasons to enter the competition. As well as the chance to win the precious, bejewelled mask, Shakespeare's Treasure has arranged for every (UK based) entrant to receive a 30 day free trial at LOVEFiLM. When you take up the offer, you will also receive a £10 Love2Shop Voucher (accepted at over 70 different retailers including Debenhams, HMV, House of Fraser and Waterstones) both of which are redeemable directly through LOVEFiLM using a unique code you will be given upon entering. (More information and T's & C's are on the LOVEFiLM website.)
Additionally, your entry will be generously supporting a very worthy cause...
25% of all profits will go into a new scholarship foundation, called Nick's Fund, to help gifted young people from deprived backgrounds to achieve success in the Arts.
During the year the fund will be split between The Children's Society and the Shakespeare Globe Trust, supporting educational programmes for young people with special needs.
Nick's Fund
Nick's Fund has been set up in memory of a wonderful young artist and curator, Nicholas Adam Padget, who tragically lost his life in July 2006. He was 27 years old and already had achieved so much.
He had a fabulous future ahead of him and he taught us to see life in a really positive way. His gentle kindness, creative spirit, generosity and lovely smile made the world a better place. We have been lost without him and now we need to fulfil his legacy.
Please help us achieve this by entering and by telling everyone you know about this competition.
